Dr Jose Munoz
Dr. José Muñoz, MD is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, known for blending surgical excellence with genuine human
connection.
Born and raised in Cuba, Dr. Muñoz immigrated to the United States at age 15 without speaking English. Through determination and discipline, he earned admission to Swarthmore College—one of the nation’s most prestigious liberal arts institutions—before being accepted to Rutgers Medical School (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey).
During medical school, Dr. Muñoz was selected as one of only four recipients of the distinguished Humanism Scholar Award, recognizing his commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and the importance of the doctor–patient relationship.
Dr. Muñoz completed a General Surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University, where he trained under Dr. Charles Yeo, one of the world’s leading pancreatic surgeons. He subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in Plastic Surgery at Temple University Hospital in
Philadelphia, training under world-renowned craniofacial surgeon Dr. James Bradley and cosmetic surgery expert Dr. James Fox, along with other leaders in the field.
Dr. Muñoz specializes in aesthetic breast surgery, complex revision and reconstruction of prior unsuccessful procedures, mommy makeovers, and body contouring after massive weight loss for both women and men. He is also experienced in gender-affirming surgery.
With over 1,000 surgical procedures performed, Dr. Muñoz is recognized for meticulous technique, natural-looking results, and personalized treatment plans. He and his dedicated team guide every
patient through consultation, financing, surgery, and recovery with hands-on, humanistic care. Dr. Muñoz is known for exceptional accessibility and even provides his personal cell phone to patients.
